Lê Äại Hà nh
As an excellent strategist, Lê Äại Hà nh (941-1005) was the king founding Nhà Tiá»n Lê (Pre-Le Dynasty) (980-1009). His native land was in Thá» Xuân (Thanh Hoá). Born in a poor family, Lê Hoà n (future Lê Äại Hà nh) was an orphan from his early childhood but very studious. He was appointed as Commander-in-chief by Äinh Tiên Hoà ng. In 979, after Äinh Tiên Hoà ng had been assassinated, Lê Hoà n became the regent because Äinh Tiên Hoà ng 's successor remained too young. In 980, the Tống Chinese dynasty prepared to annex our country. In 981, the queen mother DÆ°Æ¡ng Vân Nga and the armed forces unanimously enthroned Lê Hoà ng as Lê Äại Hà nh. In 981, Lê Äại Hà nh trounced the Tống invaders on Bạch Äằng River and at Chi Lăng Pass. After Lê Äại Ha`nh's death in 1005, his son Lê Long ÄÄ©nh killed his elder brother to usurp the throne. Indulging in debauchery, this cruel king Lê Long ÄÄ©nh always stretched out at the royal conferences, therefore he was also called Lê Ngoa. Triá»u (Ngoa. Triá»u means "To stretch out at the royal conferences"). After his death, Lý Công Uẩn replaced him in 1009 and founded Nhà Háºu Lý (Post-Ly Dynasty)
